The Black Crowes is a rock band formed in Marietta, Georgia, United States in 1989. The band was founded by brothers Chris Robinson (vocals) and Rich Robinson (guitar) along with other members, including Steve Gorman (drums), Johnny Colt (bass), and Jeff Cease (guitar).
The Black Crowes gained popularity in the early 1990s with their debut album "Shake Your Money Maker," which featured hits like "Hard to Handle" and "She Talks to Angels." Their bluesy, rootsy rock sound drew influences from classic rock bands like The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.
Over the years, the band went through several lineup changes and released several successful albums, including "The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion" and "Amorica." They continued to tour extensively and gained a reputation as a powerful live band.
However, the band experienced internal conflicts and announced their breakup in 2002. They reunited in 2005 and continued releasing albums and touring until announcing another breakup in 2015. Since then, the band members have pursued solo careers and other projects.
The Black Crowes' music is characterized by soulful vocals, bluesy guitar riffs, and a mix of rock, blues, and southern rock influences. They are often regarded as one of the leading bands of the 1990s rock revival.
